today's grace

Is it really Friday already?

Some weeks move fast.

And here I am again at week's end, ready to write up - record in black and white (or white on black, really) the graces I've found this week.

But here's the thing. I forgot.

I forgot to count. Forgot to look. Forgot to see.

How in the world does a person forget to see? Especially me, I think. Yes, especially me who learned well over a thousand gifts ago how to count from Ann each Monday. That gratitude journal I started all those years ago - it sits on my bedside table. Has sat there for a week - more - when it's usually right with me in the kitchen or at the desk or even in the car.

Not this week.

I'm not sure why. But I am sure that there were graces - there always are. Daily manna for the beloved - that's me and you - it's rained down, but I haven't gathered.

Now I'm on a hunt to find grace. Today's grace. Today's manna - and I'll gather it and I'm hopeful (always hopeful!) that I won't forget again.

I know I will. But for now, I remember.

...tall trees with branches bare bathed in the first orange splash of the sun, and I got to see it early this morning...

...warm fragrant coffee with cream...

...waking early and time alone to ponder things...

...no snow in the forecast...

...the lovely reminder to count His graces, from Jenny...

...Jesus...always...

  1. Ah, so I'm not the only one who forgets!

I hope today was filled with an abundance of grace, and that you noticed every instance!

  2. I forget too. I make lists and then forget about the lists. :(

Sometimes it's nice to sit and remember too. :)
