Moments of Gratitude
...sons performing in concert halls...
...sermons that reach down deep and speak to me just where I am...
...purring cats...
...steady patter of rain on the roof...
...walking daily on the treadmill...
...birthday gifts that arrive on the doorstep just in time...

Beauty in the Ordinary
Perhaps it is just ordinary - a small(ish) concert hall, and a bunch of high school students playing music. To me, though, this was more than beautiful.

Praying
The Rosary. It's such a beautiful prayer, isn't it?

Meditating
On Matthew 5: 14-16.
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither
do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on
its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
~~~
Am I letting my light shine so that the glory goes all to God?
Pondering
How it will feel to have a son start driving. That this, too, is a further letting out of the string which tethers me to my child. That there are wonderful parts of this new adventure that I can't see yet, but which must surely be there.
Looking Ahead
A trip to the RMV to get #1 son his Driver's Permit. A few appointments to make this week. Lots of cooking projects planned for the upcoming weekend because I have the entire weekend off! Wow and yeah!
~Peace to you all, and remember this one thing?
You're so loved.
Permit? Yeah! Our oldest son gets a license soon, and we are SO grateful! We've missed having two extra drivers once the girls went away to college.
ReplyDeleteCarrots = Yum!
What a beautiful Almanac and pictures...especially the roasted potatoes! Blessings +
ReplyDeleteThe sign made me laugh! Makes me so happy to be out of school. We are only away from a driving permit around here. Funny how something that makes her so happy an d excited causes me just the opposite.
